What exactly does the new iPhone have in store for dedicated Apple users, and how can it win over non-Apple users? While we won't know for sure until the unveiling event in a few weeks, there is a lot of speculation and a lot of evidence that can answer the ten biggest questions people have had about the newest iPhone. 10. When is it coming out? The iPhone 7, as has become tradition, will be released before the end of September. The unveiling will take place on September 7th, before being made available to the public in the following weeks. Either September 16th, or September 23rd is estimated to be the release date. 9. What is happening to the headphone jack? One of the rumors strongly backed by evidence, the headphone jack that we have come to know and love will likely be gone. This makes room for an additional speaker, making the iPhone a full stereo device. The new headphone jack will likely be the lightning port.
8. How much storage space does it have? For those who are sick of seeing the “Storage Almost Full” popup almost every hour, there is great news. Although most of us will not need 256 gigabytes of storage space, the option is there for those who can shell out the big bucks. The 16 gigabyte model will also likely be a thing of the past.
7. What is battery life going to be like? A rumored increased of 90 minutes battery life is coming to the iPhone 7. The current battery life, measured by 11 hours of video playback is estimated to increase to about 12 and a half hours of video playback. I can’t remember a time that my phone actually lasted more than a few hours (thanks, Snapchat) but that bodes well regardless. 6. Is the camera going to change at all? Yes, and it might be one of the best features of the new model. The iPhone 7 could possibly have a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens to take pictures. As more and more people rely solely on their phones to take pictures, the race is on to create the best possible camera phone. Apple has been lagging behind Samsung in terms of camera improvements, so a dual-lens camera might be necessary for Apple to stay ahead of Samsung in popularity. |
