Most sports fans have developed a deep hatred for the fans of their rival teams, but every now and then, you encounter a fan base so terrible that they are just universally hated. Is it because they're too cocky in winning? Fair weather fans? Whatever the reason, here is a list of the sports world's most hated fan bases.
10. Buffalo Bills
You kind of feel bad for Bills fans, who suffered through 4 consecutive seasons losing in the Super Bowl in the 90s and haven’t made the playoffs in 14 years. But then you actually meet them, and stop feeling bad. This fan base starts off every season expecting a Super Bowl run despite a roster filled with mediocre players, and after the 1st loss of the season, they’re already talking about “next year”. It’s no wonder why they’re considering a move to Toronto!
9. Montreal Canadiens
Generally regarded as the most rowdy fans in the NHL, the Canadiens have a reputation for making their home-ice a volatile place for visitors. They boo the U.S. national anthem, they riot in the streets and set fires after losses, and their own general manager even called them “gutless bastards”. It seems that nobody enjoys these guys, not even their own team.
8. Dallas Cowboys
After a win, they say Tony Romo is the best quarterback in the NFL. After a loss, they’re calling for him to be burned at the stake. These fans are still stuck in their glory days of the 90s, and if you ever get in an argument with one, they’re bound to bring up those Super Bowl wins. The truth is that they’re a very average team with an above-average payroll and unrealistic expectations. |
