While the university you attend should be the biggest factor in where you decide to go to school, it's hard to deny the importance of the surrounding city. It's easy to live in a bubble while you're in college, but with how welcoming and college-friendly these towns are, we can't imagine why you'd want to hole yourself up on campus. 8. Fayetteville, Arkansas Fayetteville is home to the University of Arkansas, where the Razorbacks run rampant. During the school semesters, tens of thousands of students flock to this relatively quiet and small town. With pleasant weather almost year-round, Dickson Street is always bustling with students, residents, alumni, and retirees alike. Live music, theater, restaurants, bars, and shopping areas riddle this street, the primary entertainment and nightlife district in Fayetteville, followed by the college student-oriented College Avenue. For the outdoorsy, Northwest Arkansas is heaven. Fayetteville maintains over 70 parks totaling over 3,000 acres. The mix of urban and rural makes Fayetteville an ideal college town. 7.
