9. Prague, Czech Republic
The Czech Republic's capital city seems to pop up on every one of these lists, but it's hard to argue against it. The incredible architecture will leave you in awe, predating the world wars that demolished much of Europe's premier cities. The beers are cheaper than water and that means you can easily have a lot of fun in this city. With no shortage of things to do and places to see, Prague offers a great balance between adventurous and chill. 
8. Antigua, Guatemala Guatemala deserves to be near the top of your list of places to travel to. A good introduction to Guatemala's vibrant culture would be at the colonial town of Antigua. You can experience many different cultures just from walking down those cobblestone streets, from indigenous to colonial Spanish. For the more adventurous, Antigua is the gateway to many incredible hikes. Among those is the explosive Acatenango trek where you can camp out and watch a fiery scene from nearby Volcan Fuego's eruptions all night.
7. Lisbon, Portugal
Portugal is often overlooked by many travelers in favor of Spain and the other Mediterranean countries to the east of it. Lisbon, however, is establishing itself as one of Europe's best cities. The history, culture, and vibrance of the city are among the best in all of Europe. Lisbon is an excellent place to visit year-round and its location right on the coast makes it a dream destination.
