With the job market as volatile as ever, the chances of finding a job is factored in just as heavily as starting salaries and mid-career salaries. What good is a degree if you can’t even get a job, right?

4. Anthropology Anthropology is a hard major to rank. While its average starting salary is higher than most on this list at $40,500, it is also one of the hardest degrees to find employment with. Over 12,000 people graduated with a degree in anthropology in 2016, as opposed to just 700 job openings looking specifically for anthropology majors.
