The 10 Worst College Majors of 2019
June 11th, 2019
Another year, another upsetting list to devastate art and non-STEM majors across the country. Sure, low pay is a big factor in what makes a degree worthless, but it’s far from the only thing. With the job market as volatile as ever, the chances of finding a job is factored in just as heavily as starting salaries and mid-career salaries. What good is a degree if you can’t even get a job, right?

9. Exercise Science
Dedicating one's entire life to health and fitness is an admirable decision. Unfortunately, it might not be the smartest choice to dedicate one's college studies towards it, at least not from a financial standpoint. The average starting salary for an exercise science (or related) major is just $36,600. It does not pay off for your pockets nearly as it does for your health and well-being. However, there are a lot of bright sides to being an exercise science major. Health and happiness should always outweigh money just by itself. Another benefit of being an exercise science major is the increasing awareness for the need for exercise, physical fitness, and a healthy diet. While it might not be a great major right now, there is a possibility that exercise science majors can pave the way in health and fitness jobs of the future.
