If you’ve seen The Last Jedi, read on. If not, go see it. It goes without saying, but there are mad spoilers ahead.

4. We see the return of the Jedi religion.
You might have missed it, but sneaky little Rey smuggled the old Jedi books full of Jedi wisdom onto the Millennium Falcon. With Luke officially dead (physically, anyway), that makes Rey the only one who could possibly revive the legendary Jedi Order. If a time-lapse happens in between Episode VIII and IX like I predicted, that could mean that by then, Rey would have a few pupils under her tutelage. We saw that young, force-sensitive boy at the end. While he specifically might not have a big role, it could signal an awakening of force-sensitive users across the universe. Unless Kylo Ren was bluffing to seduce Rey to the dark side, we've discovered that Rey's parents are nothing more than deadbeats with no galactic significance. That opens up a lot of potential scenarios. Specifically, you don't have to be related to the Skywalkers to save or destroy the galaxy. Who knows how they’re going to solve the lightsaber situation, but some skilled force users and warriors are really going to be the only thing that might turn the tide against the First Order. Rey has the natural talent and skills, and now also has a bit of training under her belt. With those books, she's got centuries of Jedi wisdom to gain, and for all we know, ghost Luke Skywalker isn't done with her just yet. A new Jedi Order led by Rey, or even a Jedi Temple could be in the works.
3. …but Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren destroy it. Remember that scene in The Force Awakens when Rey picks up the lightsaber and sees a crazy vision? In The Last Jedi, we hear and see the two sides of what happened the night that Kylo Ren turned on Luke and destroyed the new Jedi Academy. Neither of them show Kylo Ren with his dark-side outfit and red lightsaber, or even his Knights of Ren. So what exactly are we seeing in Rey’s vision? Or more importantly, when do we see it? The Last Jedi has given us a glimpse into more force powers than ever before. One of those suggested powers was that strong force users like Rey and Kylo might be able to see into the future. When Rey and Kylo touched hands, both of them believed they saw into the other's future. Is it possible that Rey was actually seeing into the future when she grabbed the lightsaber? When Kylo defends himself against Luke, he has a blue lightsaber. It is highly unlikely that in the time that Luke was incapacitated, Kylo got his trademark red lightsaber manufactured and an assembled a mini-army. The vision could definitely be a glimpse into a future where Rey has started a new Jedi Temple but failed to keep it hidden from Kylo and his Knights.
