10 Stunning College Campuses That You Might Not Have Heard Of

March 1st, 2017
Eli Solidum

We've all gaped in awe at the incredible architecture of the Ivy Leagues, the stunning landscapes of the Southern schools, and the mountainous views that those lucky Colorado students get to see every day. Many college campuses are undeniably beautiful, and they definitely better be considering how much we pay to call these hallowed grounds home. You might not have heard of these smaller, lesser-known schools, but they might just blow you out of the water with their beauty. Just don't be too jealous of the fortunate students that merely have to step out of their dorm rooms to get an Instagram-worthy capture.

6. Scripps College - Claremont, California
Scripps College is a small women's college in California that you probably haven't heard of, possibly because it has less than a thousand students. Those lucky few who are blessed enough to call this place home live in Mediterranean-style luxury. The residence halls are beautiful and extravagant, ranking in our list of the best college dormitories, as well. The look and feel of the campus makes you feel like you aren’t even on a college campus, or even America, a testament to the fantastic designs of the architects and landscapers.

The mountainous backdrops don't hurt, either. Taking into account the perfect California weather year-round, and you have the candidate for most perfect school in the country.

5. Sewanee: The University of the South - Sewanee, Tennessee
The 13,000-acre campus is situated on the scenic Cumberland Plateau, overlooking the Tennessee Valley. The Gothic-style architecture and the rest of developed campus take up a mere 1,000 acres of the massive 13,000-acre campus. The students, numbering under 2,000, have more than enough space to roam around and explore.

The perks of being surrounded by such vast forests are plenty, but for one, just look at those breathtaking fall colors.
