5. Jack Dawson, The Titanic
Obviously no list would be complete without one of the most famous love stories of all time. A heroic sacrifice by Jack allows his true love to live a long life, albeit a gloomy life. The raging question is "Could Jack have fit on the door?" And yes, yes he could have. But would it have earned over a billion at the box office if he survived? Probably not.
