8 of the World's Strangest Unsolved Mysteries
Modern science and technology has helped us answer many of the world's odd occurrences, but there still doesn't appear to be an accepted explanation for these perplexing mysteries. From the gruesome to the supernatural, here are eight cases that have left the world searching for answers.
8. Dan Cooper
This is one of the strangest mysteries of all time. A man under the name of Dan Cooper hijacked a Boeing 727 in 1971, passing a note to a stewardess that he had a bomb. He demanded $200,000, yet he was described as being a gentleman throughout the entire process. He parachuted off of the plane and was never heard from again, despite an intensive manhunt and ongoing investigation. This is the only unsolved instance of air piracy in history. 7. Severed Feet from the Salish Sea
This is strange because it is still going on today. Severed feet of people keep washing up on the shores of British Columbia and Washington, many of which remain unidentified. Over a dozen instances of this have occurred, with the most recent happening on May 6th, 2014. No one is able to explain why this is happening, and especially why it is concentrated so heavily in such a small area |
