Cheers! Saltwater Brewery teamed up with WeBelievers to make a major move in helping the environment. Together, they created the edible six-pack ring, a breakthrough in saving wildlife and reducing man-made pollution. From birds to fish to turtles, improperly discarded plastic six-pack rings have injured, maimed or killed various types of wildlife. Whether or not people mean to litter or pollute, our negligence means that the environment can suffer awful consequences.

Edible six-pack rings are a small but innovative step in the right direction of living in harmony with nature, rather than conflicting with it. If other, larger breweries start following suit, there would be a lot less pollution. Americans drink 6.3 billion gallons of beer a year. That's a lot of six-pack rings, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and other pollution that can end up in the ocean. It's awesome to see a brewery like Saltwater finally trying to make a change.
Below is a video Saltwater Brewery made to explain their purpose and how the the 100% biodegradable and edible six-pack ring will save wildlife. While it does cost a little bit more to produce, Saltwater does hope that customers are willing to pay extra to help the environment. Millions of birds and marine animals are affected by plastic waste and pollution. A few extra cents may not mean much to you, but it could mean their life to them.
