10 Stunning College Campuses That You Might Not Have Heard Of

March 1st, 2017
Eli Solidum

We've all gaped in awe at the incredible architecture of the Ivy Leagues, the stunning landscapes of the Southern schools, and the mountainous views that those lucky Colorado students get to see every day. Many college campuses are undeniably beautiful, and they definitely better be considering how much we pay to call these hallowed grounds home. You might not have heard of these smaller, lesser-known schools, but they might just blow you out of the water with their beauty. Just don't be too jealous of the fortunate students that merely have to step out of their dorm rooms to get an Instagram-worthy capture.

8. Sweet Briar College - Sweet Briar, Virginia
The Blue Ridge Mountains make for a beautifully scenic backdrop for this small Virginia college. The quaint little name matches the charm of the college, one of the premier liberal arts institutions in the country. With a large equestrian center on the campus, you’ll often find students on horseback trotting along around the 3,250 acre campus.

The all-female school almost closed a couple of years ago due to financial problems, but thankfully rallied to remain open. It’s hard to imagine a school as beautiful as Sweet Briar closing down.

7. Lewis and Clark College - Portland, Oregon
Lewis and Clark College is a dream school for students who are fond of the great outdoors, and also those that are fond of always having something Instagram-worthy in sight. With the gorgeous Mount Hood always in the background, Lewis and Clark College already has enough beauty to make it on this list, but when you include the 100+ acres of forested area connected to Tyron Creek State Natural Area, you’ve got plenty more reason.

That’s not even taking into account how beautiful the historic buildings are. This campus definitely looks like one that we wouldn't mind walking to and from class in.
