10. Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird
In the 1979 National Championship Game, Larry Bird and his Indiana State team were matched up against Magic Johnson’s Michigan State team. In what would become the highest-rated game in college basketball history, Johnson led his Spartans to an upset over Bird’s undefeated crew, earning himself tournament MVP honors. This game is often regarded as a major factor in the modern popularity of college basketball. The two would go on to become fierce rivals in the NBA as well. |
