The 10 Most Disturbing Serial Killers You Probably Haven't Heard Of

August 24th, 2016
Eli Solidum

Warning: this post contains severely graphic descriptions and extremely disturbing instances of rape, pedophilia, torture, murder, cannibalism, and more. Even if you are not easily disgusted or particularly sensitive, these descriptions of their actions are potentially scarring. While this article attempts to censor the more graphic details, many gruesome details are left in in order to accurately describe the sickening acts of each killer.

1. Gilles de Rais
Gilles de Rais was a baron who abused his position and title to rape and kill what could have been hundreds of children. In just one of his homes, forty naked bodies were found. A servant testified at his trial that he would carve wounds into his victims and then use those wounds to pleasure himself. As sickening as that is, de Rais’ performed even more atrocious acts, many of which that I will avoid going into detail on, but that you can read on his Wikipedia page here. Victim count? Anywhere between 150 to 800. Had Gilles de Rais not made the mistake of kidnapping a priest, he likely would have never been caught. As a baron who was among the highest officers in France and a personal favorite of the king, there would not even have been an investigation had he not targeted the church.
