3. Gary Ridgway (Green River Killer)
Ridgway is the most prolific American serial killer in history, convicted of 49 murders, although confessing to 71. Ridgway murdered his victims across the state of Washington, mostly prostitutes and underage runaways. His first five victims were found in the Green River, hence him being dubbed the Green River Killer. His victims were strangled before being dumped in thick forested areas. He would often return to these dead bodies at subsequent times to have intercourse with them. |
