Modern science and technology has helped us answer many of the world's odd occurrences, but there still doesn't appear to be an accepted explanation for these perplexing mysteries. From the gruesome to the supernatural, here are eight cases that have left the world searching for answers.
2. The Ghostly Coal
A man from Hornsey in England bought coal. Nothing strange about that, but there was definitely something wrong with the coal. It would move by itself, cause other objects to fly across the room, and even resulted in the death of the family’s five year old daughter. These events were witnessed by priests, doctors, and many others, yet none could explain it. Many people attribute it to angry ghosts of coal miners, but fewer people would believe that than the actual story itself. 
1. The Odon Fires
In Indiana, the Hackler family experienced something completely unheard of. Around thirty fires occurred in their house in one day. The strange part? They didn’t have electricity or anything that could start the fires. The stranger part? The fires were randomly sparking in the most random of places, including inside a mattress and inside a book.
