GoPro dropped their biggest teaser video for their upcoming drone, dubbed Karma, and their new generation of GoPros. The GoPro Karma drone is set to be released on October 23rd, and with a hefty price tag of $799, it needs to do more than just your basic drone for casual GoProers to even think about purchasing it. Teasers and spec releases from GoPro lead me to believe that is totally worth the price tag and worth the hype. With an extremely simple interface, 3-axis gimbal, sleek look, and thin size, it is the perfect competitor to take on the current drone market. It does not come with a camera, unlike other drones, but fortunately, GoPro is making some noise again after being pretty silent the past few years. The GoPro Hero5 is set to be released in October, clocking in at $399. Noteworthy features include voice control, 4k video at 30fps, or 1080p video at 120fps, and waterproof capabilities up to about 30 feet. If you can wait three weeks (the Hero5 and Hero5 Session are being released October 2nd), you can bundle up the Karma drone with the camera for $1099 or $999 for the Hero5 and Hero5 session respectively. |
