7. Freshwater Snail (10000 Deaths Per Year)
Believe it or not, the freshwater snail kills around 10,000 humans each year. That tiny creature? No way. Well, believe it. These snails are known to cause schistosomiasis, a disease contracted by coming in contact with water infested with parasites such as these snails. Schistosomiasis is just behind malaria when it comes to diseases with the biggest impact on economy, and it affects anywhere from 12,000 to 200,000 people worldwide each year. It's hard to pinpoint how many are attributed to these snails, but nonetheless, these creatures are surprisingly deadly.
