Could Obi-Wan Kenobi Be Rey's Father?
(SPOILERS AHEAD)

For some reason, the biggest question in the aftermath The Force Awakens has been “who is Rey’s father?” The original trilogy dropped the biggest plot twist on us when Darth Vader revealed himself to be Luke’s father, and now everyone is going crazy over who Rey’s father is. Everyone wants to be able to say “I told you so” when Luke or Han or Jar Jar Binks turns out to be Rey’s father. However, while Luke is the most obvious choice, and even Han has a sliver of possibility of being her father, people are now pointing to the Kenobi formerly known as Obi-Wan as the prime suspect. While it is yet to be determined (if ever, because let’s face it, is Rey’s father really integral to the story?) we came up with a case arguing for and against Obi-Wan as the father.

Possibility 1 of 3:
Yes, Obi-Wan is the Father

It has been confirmed by Obi-Wan himself that when Rey touches the lightsaber for the first time, she hears Kenobi’s voice. Why? Well, people argue that it’s because he is somehow related to Rey, specifically, he’s her pops.
I mean it makes sense. If you’ve never met or even knew of a person’s existence, how can you possibly hear their voice? Maybe a long time ago, before she was abandoned on Jakku, she was a Kenobi.
Other reasons include her force sensitivity. While having Luke or Han (through Leia) as the father can explain her natural force sensitivity, Obi-Wan should not be ignored just yet. I mean, the guy trained Anakin, the chosen one, the guy who was literally the strongest force-wielder in the universe. That’s gotta count for something. Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, and Ewan McGregor, who plays Obi-Wan, also both speak with British accents. John Boyega (Finn) does as well, but was not allowed to keep it during The Force Awakens
. Personally, I think that it’s silly, but some people are speculating that it could be a subtle hint towards who Rey’s father is. One thing is for sure, it definitely rules out Jar Jar and his Caribbean accent.
