6. Assassin Bug (12500 Deaths Per Year)
Read that name. Assassin bug. How can that not strike fear in your heart? Let's ignore their other name, the kissing bug, for now. These creatures transmit several diseases, the most deadly being Chagas disease, or American trypanosomiasis. In 2006, it was estimated that 12500 people died due to this disease, many of which were poorer people in the central and southern Americas.
